Queensland, the tropical state of Australia. My time in Queensland has been quite an adventure, from trekking through the Daintree Rainforest, encountering various forms of exotic wildlife to diving on the Great Barrier Reef. I began 2016 on this adventure and set the goals extremely high for my next New Years.
Queensland is the only place in the world two world heritage sites meet, the famous Daintree Rainforest to the Great Barrier Reef. Based in the North East Coast of Australia, Queensland hosts 1,200 square kilometers of the worlds most important ecological habitats. This certainly was a amazing experience, during our time here we based ourselves on the tropical Trinity Beach. This location is ideal as it’s close to the heart of Cairns City and bordering the dense natural beauty.
Thank you to the amazing Blue Lagoon Resort to setting us up in a stunning apartment overlooking the Lagoon and in walking distance of Trinity Beach. Our journey in this surreal location of mountains, reefs and forests consisted of each day on the go. We found these particular apartments pretty handy with a lovely kitchenette to cook up meals of protein and carbs to keep us full of energy for the days adventure. Not only ideal, but pretty romantic in the heart of the tropical cape, with a balcony that overlooks the mountains and a lagoon.
So a little more about this stunning get-away location? The Daintree Rainforest is older than the Amazon Rainforest and has some of the worlds oldest jurassic plants. There are so many attractions to enable visitors to see the most of Queenslands’ natural beauty, such as the Sky-rail Rainforest Cableway and the Cape Tribulation district. From nights on the beach at palm cove to day trips trekking along the Mossman Gorge, nothing failed the tropical expectations.
Each corner we turned, natural beauty took my breathe away. From hot rainfall to not a cloud in the sky, this adventure into the rainforest and reefs in Queensland was one to not forget.
Hope you are all enjoying reading my travels.
