A pom prom

Pom Prom
………..

……..

The classic and cliché night for a teen… Prom. Hyped up all year, on dresses, suites and location. Within my sixth form there are so many diverse styles so deciding on a prom theme was very hard for the organizers.

So instead we decided to advertise the theme as classic prom with a unique twist, of wear what YOU like as long as it’s appropriate for a prom. This ensured everyone would attend and all individuals felt comfortable in expressing themselves in their own way.

For me, this resulted in pure colours such as white and creams. I had to be careful not to go overboard in-case of looking extremely wedding like. So this bohemian styled Jarlo London dress worked perfectly being simple but with embroidered, detailed lace. Which will draw attention to more flattering and a smaller area by hugging in my waist.

I ventured to Hyde Park to display my prom look to you guys, as I felt this captured the relaxed feel to the dress. I’m not the kinda girl who likes classic, princess dresses nor massive gowns. I love understated therefore decided to shoot without heels and  only simplistic jewellery…my sea-water pearls.

Another asset to the whole, natural and free prom look was my make-up. My personal style leads me to love classic make up. With inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s iconic dark eyes and rouge lips. These simply highlighted the areas which I would like others to focus on. By having this bold, classic look my hair was curled in a natural, wind swept style to overall create chilled tones. (Hair tutorial posts coming soon.)
